Challenge Yourself

We all know one of the best things about CrossFit is the ability to scale the workout to any level of fitness. But what if you make it too easy? Then you need to challenge yourself. If you finish a hero workout in half the time that everyone else does, then ask yourself if you did your workout justice or were you just going through the motions. Pick a scaling a hard as you can manage to start with and be prepared to scale down. If you can bang out your scaled Hand Stand Push Ups 10 to 20 at a time then perhaps you have scaled to easy. Challenge yourself, the harder you work the better the return.

We post the workout of the day early in the morning, take some time to look at it during the day and come in with a plan. Think about how you might scale if needed. Talk to the coach and make sure you get the most out of your workout. Keep a logbook and use it, otherwise you can not gauge your progress or ensure you push harder next time you hit a lift or similar workout.

Hand Care

A fair bit of bar work this week along with the hot weather has made for a bit of damage to peoples hands. HERE is a great article on looking after your hands.

Casey Swims Lake Taupo

Congratulations to Casey on completing his epic 41km swim in Lake Taupo on Monday. He finished in 10 hours and 52 minutes, outside the record, but it makes him one of only two people to have swum the lake in under 11 hours. He was on track for the record but a change in the weather spoiled his chances. His next goal is the English Channel in September, checkout all the details on his website HERE and support him by donating HERE.
