Today at 11am in conjunction with our friends at their gyms in Boston, we will be doing a WOD to honor those who have passed, those seriously injured, those who saw horrific things, the first responders, the local nurses and doctors, the City of Boston, and America. CrossFit Boston and many other CF boxes in the Greater Boston area, and many outside of the area as well, will perform:

“Marathon Monday”

5 Rounds
4 Squat Clean and Jerks (185,125)
15 Chest to Bar Pull-ups
13 Burpee lateral jumps
After 5 rounds are complete:
800m run

Your time is your total time for all 5 rounds plus the 800m sprint.

CrossFit Southie has programmed this workout and organized a fundraising page to help the Richard family that lost their son Martin William Richard. Denise and Jane Richard, Mother and sister of Martin, also suffered significant injuries and have a long battle ahead of them as well. We will be collecting donations tomorrow to help this family and others on their long road to recovery.

Boston was Donna’s big city growing up. She lived in Massachusetts for 35 years. CrossFit Boston was “our” box in Boston. Come on down and join us and show that you to are Boston Strong. This does not count as a weekly visit, ALL are welcome.

Barbell Club and our In House Oly Comp

Great work by those who completed the second cycle of the Barbell Club Olympic Weightlifting Program. Most improved on the Snatch was Cain with a PR increase of 42.5kg, most improved C&J was Anita with a 20kg increase. Leone put herself on top of the gym leaderboard with a 47.5kg Snatch and 60kg C&J. On average we added 10kg to peoples Snatch and 8kg to their C&J. Although the next cycle of the Oly program is full, there will be another later in the year. If you want to improve your Oly lifts this is well worth attending.

The In House Oly Comp yesterday was a lot of fun, a great relaxed atmosphere and a ton of PR’s. The results are HERE, talk to those who took part and plan on being part of the next one in September. If you lifted yesterday and hit a PR, make sure you get that number up on the PR Board 🙂
