When?

Training for 41° Weightlifting Club takes place at MaD CrossFit, 58 Victoria Street, PETONE, on Tue and Thu at 7:30 – 8:30pm, Saturday 11am – Noon and Sunday 10am – Noon. Sunday sessions are subject to change if we are hosting an Olympic Weightlifting Competition or other event.

Program

Programming for Olympic Weightlifting will be supplied, but you are welcome to bring your own. If you want personalised programming for either Olympic Weightlifting or Powerlifting that is available at additional cost.

Coaches

A number of our coaches train during these sessions, so some adhoc coaching is available. Please don’t expect a coach who is training to drop everything for you. If you want individual instruction that is available at an additional cost.

41° Weightlifting Club Membership Fee – Olympic Weightlifting

Due to changes in the Olympic Weightlifting New Zealand (OWNZ) Club affiliation process we needed to introduce a club membership fee in 2015. Club membership will be $25 for the year and will cover your entry into all of our sanctioned and unsanctioned club competitions. Club membership is also a prerequisite for ANYONE to train at 41° Weightlifting Club. You are not required to be registered with OWNZ, but we highly encourage you to support the sport. Register with OWNZ HERE.

MaD CrossFit Members

Training is open to 41° Members ONLY. While you must be registered, you do not have to take part in the regular competitions. You must have completed Barbell Club or been cleared to attend via a private session with an Olympic Weightlifting or Powerlifting coach (See Induction Session and Exceptions below).

MaD CrossFit unlimited members are free to attend. MaD CrossFit Multi Pass holders and 3 x a week members will need to pay an additional $30 per month. Non MaD CrossFit members who wish to attend can still do so, see the info below.

Not a MaD CrossFit member?

If you are not a member of MaD CrossFit you are still able to take part in this training. Cost is $50 per month, for a minimum of 3 months, paid via ezidebit, get the form HERE.

41° Weightlifting Club Induction Session

This session is designed to introduce you to the gym, layout, equipment, rules and expectations. It is also our opportunity to assess where you are regarding lifting and whether or not you are cleared to train individually or if you need extra training to train by yourself.

The Induction Session lasts around 60 minutes at a cost of $50 per person. During the session the coach will take you around the facility explain the lay out, go over some simple rules and assess your lifts. If you are good to go at the end of the session the coach will let you know, otherwise they will suggest training alternatives to get you up to speed to train independently.

We do this to ensure that expectations are the same for you and for those who train with you. It is also a means to ensure lifter safety during our training sessions. For a few more of the rules click HERE.

EXCEPTIONS

MaD Strength and Conditioning Members who have completed an Olympic Weightlifting or Powerlifting Course will, with coaches clearance, be exempt the Induction Session.

Other lifters vouched for by a coach can also be exempted the Induction Session at the Club’s discretion.
