Hi, I read your wod’s from afar (NYC) and have a question about terminology. When you put up something like 3×5, you read that as 5 sets of 3 reps, correct? But how about something like the DL 1×21 on 4/26? I notice in the comments people only put one figure for the weight, which implies to me that it is probably read as 1 set of 21 reps. Am I correct? If so, why the reversal? If not, is it really 21 sets of 1 rep, and how is that done? i.e., if one were to take a normal 2 min rest in between heavy sets, that would add up to a very long workout time. I hope that makes sense, thanks.

Typically we are working with a % of 1rm with our own clients for the daily lift with reps/sets.

If the load is not a % of 1rm the notation for sets and reps will be in the reverse order. for example: FS 1×15 is 1set 15 reps.

We got this system from Catalyst Athletics.

Hope that clears things up. Cheers from New Zealand.
