5 Rounds for max load
7 sets of the sequence
No resting the bar on the ground. Break up or combine movements any way as long as all movements are complete range of motion. Watch the video: The Bear Compare to Jan 26 and Aug 30.
My First Bear (more like Fozzy)
Did: 30,30,32.5,32.5,35. Really enjoyed that one. Tough fun class.
So, couple of questions:
1. Do you choose a weight, then one round is the above 7 times?
2. Then do you have a quick break, put more weight on, then repeat as above for the following four rounds? So, you don’t go for time, but just try to go heavier?
just wanted to clarify…
Oh and is the last push press supposed to be a behind the back push press?
Rose, you are onto it.
One round is 7 times through:
1 clean, 1 front squat, 1 push press, 1 back squat, 1 push press.
The bar is not allowed to rest on the ground during the round.
You choose the weight each round, the idea is to go as heavy as possible, you can take weight off if you get it wrong, you do not have to add weight if it is already heavy.
Yes the last push press is from behind the neck. Make sure you lock it out overhead before bringing it back down for the next clean.
Thanks Matt/Rose, I was wondering that (not that I anticipate much weight going on the bar – but I like to imagine!!). Looking forward to giving this a go later…
one more thing – Rose, how did you change your picture on your avatar? Sure I could figure it out, but don’t have the patience
Thanks matt, will tackle this one tomorrow, went a bit OTT with the upper body last few days haha, so havin a rest today.
Faye-i think if you google gravatar it should come up with the website, and you just register and add a pic from there
yay! thanks Rose.
So, my bear was….
7, 9.5, 10.5, 10.5, 12 (scaled to 4 reps)
